What is Thermal Mechanical Ablation?
Tixel is a state-of-the-art technology that gives extraordinary results in treating a wide range of skin conditions by using Thermo-Mechanical Action technology (TMA ). You can rejuvenate the skin, reduce laxity and repair sun damage. It improves complexion , luminosity, fine lines and texture. It can thicken and tighten thin skin.
Tixel is safe for the entire face, including the eyelids, neck and decolletage area which traditionally have been extremely challenging to improve.
Tixel can be used on all skin types from light to dark in Fitzpatrick scale I to V and performed on any body area.
Tixel, unlike other devices, can be safely used on eyelids to perform EyeLift and treat Dry Eyes Symptoms. Contact lenses must be removed!
How Does Tixel Work?
Three levels of Tixel treatment can be used.
1. Non-ablative ( Open Channels)
2. Non-ablative Medium Level and
3. Full- Oblative
What is the difference between Ablative and Non- Ablative treatment?
Ablative lasers remove the top layer of skin ( stratum corneum) while non-ablative lasers work by heating up the underlying skin tissue without harming the surface, microscopic zones of heat-induced injuries are introduced by leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed, the result is your body will produce new collagen. Thus the process is less aggressive and your skin heals faster.
The tissue that Tixel, Fraxel or CO2 damages then becomes a fresh fluffier collagen (collagen I) remains for years. Some patients, often older or with habits of too much sun, smoking etc.., have skin where their collagen degrades faster and might need a retreatment more often.
What are the side effects and downtime?
Full Ablative
At this level results are compatible with fractional resurfacing CO2 lasers but without bleeding, oozing or need of dressing. You can see good results after one treatment. Recovery time depends on your skin sensitivity and varies from 2 to 5 days of red skin. Makeup can be applied after 48h to cover redness.
Non-Ablative Medium Level
At this level you can achieve the same results as full ablative but with more sessions. Recovery time is shorter and you can resume your normal activities within 24h.
Non- Ablative /Open Channel
This is a light level, so no downtime. Mild to moderate swelling. This level gives similar results to IPL, BBL, Clear & Brilliant, Moxi the gentlest laser treatment. It can be used to treat melasma, rosacea and acne as well as aging. This setting can be used as a Mezatherapy (infusion) For example: Hyaluronic Acid, Botox, Growth Factor, Vit C, Exosomes and others depending on your goal. Just on that setting alone, skin absorbs approximately 20X more product than with microneedling treatment, RF microneedling, which are commonly used for that purpose.
Why is Pain Relatively Low?
TYPICAL HEAT DIFFUSION
Typical heat diffusion needs a MIDDLE MAN, or chromophore ( usually water), to assist in this heat diffusion process. This chromophore process requires more energy in order to achieve the desired heating effects. More energy is accompanied with more pain.
HEAT DIFFUSION EFFECT IN TIXEL
Tixel’s DIRECT heat diffusion requires less energy, which means less pain, in order to achieve a significant injury and subsequent robust healing response that leads to collagen remodeling.
How many treatments do you need?
The number of treatments you need depends on what your goal is and your individual skin condition. For best and most lasting results, you will need to have a course of 3-6 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart, with a treatment every 6-9 months thereafter for maintenance.
IPL, BBL VS. Tixel
The BBL is an intense pulse light (IPL) which is a high powered flashlamp which focuses the type of light to attract/absorb pigment lesions or blood vessels. So the Tixel can act like an IPL. It can clear up pigmentation and blood vessels after 3-4 treatments. But the Tixel cantreat the wrinkling of skin at the same time while an IPL does not help wrinkles.

Also known as "powder brow and/or shading" is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure that deposits pigment into the superficial layer of the skin. The result resembles makeup application or a fresh eyebrow tint. This advance technique is used to create a solid, bolder, more defined brow look. The pigment is darker starting from the tail, and it gradually gets lighter towards the front of the brow, hence the name "Ombré Brows". Every skin type is suitable for this procedure and the results can last up to 2 years.

WHAT IS OMBRÉ BROW?
- Ombré Brows (also known as Powder Brows/Shaded Brows) is the newest semi-permanent makeup technique using a digital machine. It is 100% customizable and is great for anyone who wants to enhance their eyebrows with a soft, and natural makeup-like finish. This method creates pixilated dots to mimic powder filled brows with no harsh front or outline. This look creates a soft, misty, powder filled brow similar to the look of makeup. where through the manual process of inserting pigment into the top layers of skin.
- The procedure is a two step process (initial insertion of pigment & touch-up 6-8 weeks later).
- We create the desired fullness and design of the eyebrows.
- This technique differs from Microblading since we create a misty, powder filled brow that mimics the look of makeup application, or a fresh eyebrow tint.
- They are semi-permanent, in that most fade over time if no additional procedure is performed.
WHAT DOES OMBRÉ BROW LOOK LIKE?
- The tails of the brow are darker, and as you move towards the front of the brow it starts to fade.
- The effects will be waterproof and smudge-proof looking brow makeup.
- It normally lasts longer than Microblading, typically around 2 years on average (varies depending on client's skin type.
- Results are not determined until touch-up application is completed.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
- Consultation is done at the day of the appointment.
- To be better prepared, feel free to do more research prior to the appointment in order to be more knowledgeable, and confident in your decision moving forward.
- First, a topical anesthetic cream will be applied while we go over the forms along with Q&A.
- After, we will take our time on shaping the perfect brows and selecting a pigment customized just for you.
- The powdering technique will start after you are happy with the shape and the tattoo treatment itself will take about 1 hour for both eyebrows.
- Please keep in mind that being indecisive will take away time from your session, please be prepared by providing photos of your ideal brow shape at the appointment.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
- The appointment will take about 2 hours.
HOW LONG DOES OMBRÉ BROW LAST?
- Ombré Brow can last for 1-3 years.
- A touch up is required 6-8 weeks after the initial appointment.
- Clients that choose a soft look, light colour shade or did not follow the after care instructions may require more touch up appointments.

DOES OMBRÉ BROW HURT?
- Pain varies from person to person.
- People who wax, pluck their eyebrows or have it thread regularly will find the procedure painless whereas someone who has never touched their eyebrows may feel some discomfort.
- A safe topical anesthetic cream will be applied before and during the procedure to ease any discomfort for you.
- The pain is usually minimal to none for most clients.

IS THERE A CHANCE OF INFECTION?

- One time use sterile disposable needles are always used, which are opened in front of each client.
IS SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP A TATTOO?
- Yes semi-permanent makeup is a tattoo.
- We insert pigment into the superficial layers of the skin. Though, it does not puncture deep enough to be a permanent tattoo and the pigments used are medical grade so it is safe and suitable for any facial area.
- The safe pigments are designed to gradually fade overtime.
PRIOR TO OMBRÉ BROW
- Bring along the makeup you apply and any photos of the look that you want to achieve.
- Make sure your health is in good condition, a medical history form will need to be completed 48 hours prior to your procedure.
- DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL or CAFFEINE.
- 1 week prior to your procedure, DO NOT TAKE any blood thinners such as Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, B6, Omega 3, Gingko Biloba, St. John's Wort, evening Primrose unless medically necessary - you may resume immediately after the procedure.
- Avoid booking during your menstrual cycle as it can increase pain sensitivity.
- No waxing, tanning or tinting the eyebrow area 3 days before your appointment.
- No anti-aging treatments such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, laser, facials 2 weeks before your appointment.
- No facial injections 1 month prior to procedure.
- On the day of your appointment avoid caffeine/exercise and wash your hair since hot showers are not recommended, baths are ideal.
OMBRÉ BROW AFTERCARE
- It is normal to experience some swelling and soreness, this will subside within a few days.
- Apply the ointment given 3 times a day, for the next 3 days post procedure always using clean fingers/cotton swab.
- Do not touch the healing area with your fingers- they may contain bacteria.
- Do not touch, scratch, rub, pick or peel at the healing skin and allow it to flake off on its own.
- It‘s recommended to not fly the first week after your treatment
- Gently cleanse the area with a mild antibacterial soap - do not scrub.
- You may rinse with water and lightly pat the area dry.
- Before bathing gently apply a light coating of ointment on the procedure area, continue this regimen until the procedure area is healed.
- No makeup, facials, sweating, sun, tanning, sauna, jacuzzi, swimming until the area is completely healed post procedure and after all touch-ups.
- Avoid immersing the eyebrow area in water.
- Do not use anti-aging products that contain Lactic acids or Glycolic acids it will fade your pigment area.
- Use a total sun block after the procedure area has healed to prevent future fading of pigment color.
- You may resume regular activities once you have completed the peeling phase.
- Failure to follow these instructions may result in pigment color loss!
- Touch-up visits should be scheduled between 6-8 weeks post procedure.
- After 12 weeks, colour changes, or changing your mind on thickness will cost $475
WHAT IS THE HEALING TIME?
- We highly recommend booking an appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event.
- The average healing time is about 7-14 days but for few, may take longer.
- Immediately after the procedure, you will notice your eyebrows being 1-3 shades darker, (depending on what pigment color you choose) this will go on for about a week before you start flaking and peeling the following days. You must avoid unsanitary environments, heavy sun exposure & getting the brows wet/sweaty until it completely peels. It is important to leave your eyebrows alone and do not fill in your gaps during this healing time. Depending on your skin type, we will send you home with a light ointment aftercare where you’ll be applying a minimal amount once a day until peeled. After it is completely peeled, your brows will appear 30% lighter. The color won’t start lifting until the next following weeks. No down time is needed.
- You can certainly go to work the day after. Color boosts and touchups are booked as needed.

- Pregnant or nursing
- Extreme level of sensitive skin
- Allergies to topical anesthetics
- History of keloids or hypertrophic scarring
- Severe Acne
- Keratosis
- Skin irritations, Facial psoriasis near the treated area or Eczema

- Previous tattoo that has not faded (consultation required)
- Accutane in the past 2 years
- Recently tanned or will be tanned within 4 weeks

IS THIS PROCEDURE GUARANTEED?
- Like any other cosmetic procedures, semi-permanent makeup is not guaranteed as the skin anatomy is different for each individual. Lifestyle and immune system may play a huge factor in the longevity and retention of the pigment. With many different preferences, there may be additional sessions based on your wants and needs in perfecting the end result.
HOW LONG SHOULD I WAIT BEFORE I CAN HAVE PERMANENT MAKEUP APPLIED AFTER BOTOX, INJECTABLES, CHEMICAL PEELS OR LASER TREATMENTS?
- We advise you to wait 3 weeks prior/post treatment until you have reached your desired outcome of your brows before you do the following.

IMPORTANT:
This is considered a soft surgical procedure. You must comply with pre & post guidelines to prevent scaring or hyperpigmentation.
Plasma Pen skin tightening results are impressive but should not be proposed as an alternative to surgery in cases of moderate to severe skin laxity. Only surgery can achieve these kinds of results. You will typically see immediate tightening along with cumulative improvements over the next three months in the appearance of saggy skin. In some cases it may require more than one session depending on the desired results.

So what is the buzz about the newest cosmetic procedure to combat wrinkles, loss of collagen, and sagging skin? As we age, the dermal layer of our skin thins, we produce less collagen, and we lose elasticity. All of these factors produce sagging and wrinkling of the skin. The Plasma Pen is a soft-surgery procedure targeting a wide variety of skin conditions including loss of elasticity, sagging, and wrinkles that have been traditionally treated with fillers or plastic surgery.
WHAT IS THE PLASMA PEN?
Plasma Pen is the world’s most advanced, non-invasive, skin lifting, skin tightening and rejuvenation device used to treat wrinkles, and sagging, dull skin. The Plasma Pen is an FDA approved, CE approved device used to perform fibroblast therapy, a technique used to stimulate production of collagen in the skin.
HOW DOES THE PLASMA PEN WORK?
Our highly trained and certified Plasma Pen technician use the device to delivery soft-surgery plasma fibroblasting. The plasma significantly tightens, lifts, resurfaces, and regenerates practically any area of the skin.
Plasma Pen converts electrical energy into gaseous diatomic molecular nitrogen and transmits that energized gas in a non-contact way to the skin’s surface from above. This causes a micro-trauma to the skin’s epidermal layer (top layers) whilst simultaneously heating and disrupting the deeper dermal structure via thermal conduction. This treatment is also known as fibroblasting. Fibroblasts are the most common cells of connective tissue in the body that produce collagen.
WHAT AREAS OF THE BODY CAN BE TREATED WITH PLASMA PEN?
Fibroblasting produces excellent results for any area of the body, particularly the face and neck regions. WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT PLASMA PEN VS. OTHER FIBROBLASTING DEVICES?
Other fibroblasting devices are often referred to as Plasma Pen but are not the actual trademarked device. Other competitor’s devices can be purchased from China for as little as $10 and are not true plasma technology. At best, they are designed for personal skin tag and mole removal. These pens are not suitable for professional use and can be dangerous. I don’t know about you, but I certainly do not want a treatment done around my eyes with a knockoff device? NO WAY!
Many of the technicians performing fibroblasting are not professionally trained. There are many contraindications for fibroblasting including but not limited to certain medical conditions, medications and skin types. Also, it is important to mention the specific techniques used to obtain the best results. Do you homework and be very cautious.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS?
Plasma Pen skin tightening results are impressive but should not be proposed as an alternative to surgery in cases of moderate to severe skin laxity. Only surgery can achieve these kinds of results. You will typically see immediate tightening along with cumulative improvements over the next three months in the appearance of saggy skin. In some cases it may require more than one session depending on the desired results.
IS THE PLASMA PEN TREATMENT PAINFUL?
Plasma Pen is mildly to moderately uncomfortable. Everyone’s pain level is different and some areas of the body are more sensitive than others. Numbing cream is helpful in reducing the discomfort during treatment.
WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF THE PLASMA PEN TREATMENT?
The Plasma Pen is a relatively safe treatment, particularly when compared to more invasive cosmetic procedures. However, no procedure is without risks and it’s important to review and understand the contraindications and risks. Risks include:
Swelling and bruising Scabbing and crusting Skin discoloration or Scarring are some of the associated risks involved with this treatment. In some cases, it can take up to four to six months to see a difference or complete healing.
WHAT DOWNTIME CAN I EXPECT AFTER MY PLASMA PEN TREATMENT?
There IS downtime. “Downtime” is very subjective. What you think “looks bad” and/or is “uncomfortable” can be very different from someone else’s perception. If you are comparing it to cosmetic surgery, then no, the downtime is minimal. If you are comparing it to a light chemical peel where no one can tell you did anything and you are just a bit flaky everywhere, then no.
Redness, swelling and scabbing in the treatment area Average of 2 to 8 days downtime on the face and neck areas Average of 10 to 14 days on the body, depending on the area being treated and the intensity of the treatment Swelling usually begins the day following your treatment, and peaks around day 3 After day 3, swelling subsides day 3 and scabs form. Scabs normally begin to fall off around day 4 to 7 (for face and neck) Please be aware that the days indicated are simply guidelines for average healing time. Healing time and results may be negatively compromised by not following the after care protocol: no drinking alcohol, no smoking and no scratching/picking/scrubbing. If your health is compromised in any way, this can also extend your healing time and negatively affect your results.
PLASMA PEN: THE FOLLOWING DAY
As indicated above, most clients can expect an average of 3 days of downtime in the face and neck areas, the 4th day the skin is getting back to normal. Day 5 to 10 you may have minimal peeling with the crusts sloughing off.
WHAT SKIN TYPES MAY NOT BE GOOD CANDIDATES FOR PLASMA PEN TREATMENT?
Darker skin tones (African American, African, Latin, Native American, Indian, Middle Eastern, Asian ancestry and people of mixed ethnicities) may not be good candidates for Plasma Pen.
